People usually live up to or down to the level of expectation that others have for us and that we have for ourselves. This is how we raise our children. We set expectations for how they should behave, how they should perform in school and on the ball field. So, it is almost part of our DNA to operate that way. The chances are that you are not expecting enough of yourself. So, raise your expectation. Once you believe the expectation in your core, then you will begin to perform at that level. The trick is to actually believe the expectation you set for yourself. Believing you can do it does not happen instantly. You have to work at it. Find evidence that it is possible. Maybe others have done it. Maybe no one else had your skill. Or maybe many people have done it, but you just don’t believe that YOU can do it. That usually comes from a lack of self-confidence or from excuse making. So set the expectation, believe in yourself and stop making excuses for yourself, and the results will follow quickly.
