PRINCE William's Valentine's gift to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge was revealed to have also involved their young children as the couple enjoy "the simple things" after nearly 11 years of marriage, a source revealed.
Prince William's Valentine's gift was revealed by a source who said the future king "handwrote the most romantic message" in his card to his wife and presented it with 50 roses. The source also claimed the Cambridge children were also involved in the celebration and presented their own cards to their mother which they made in school. The insider added the royal couple wanted to avoid extravagant restaurants and revealed how the pair tend to spend their date nights together.
Speaking to US Weekly, the source revealed what Prince William gifted Kate on Valentine's and what he wrote in his card to her.
They reported: “William surprised Kate with a huge box of 50 roses on Valentine’s Day.
“He handwrote the most romantic message in his card, praising her for being such a wonderful wife and mother.”
The source also claimed Princes George, Louis, and Princess Charlotte also helped out on the day and gave "handmade Valentine's cards" that they made at school.
When discussing how Prince William and Kate spend their time together, the insider said they rarely splash out.
They continued: "William and Kate are homebodies, so their date nights tend to be chill.
“They’ll watch Netflix and documentaries when the children are in bed, order takeout, play Scrabble and enjoy a few glasses of wine. For them, it’s the simple things in life that count.”
Royal Family members spent their Valentine's Day in a variety of ways with some members taking part in engagements and others sharing posts on social media.
On Valentine’s Day 2019, Harry and Meghan were much further apart as he spent the most romantic day of the year in Norway.
The Duke went to Bardufoss where he met Royal Marines for Exercise Clockwork, an annual cold weather training event.
His separation from Meghan came despite the Duchess previously admitting she was a “sucker” for the day of love.
In a post on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, in 2015, Meghan wrote of her love of Valentine’s Day.
She said: "Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day.
"Without fail, every February 14, I wake up feeling like I'm immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss.
"This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way.”
The Duchess also gave her thoughts on romantic gestures.
