We're going to begin the program with a standing ab workout that's focused on activating the core standing. This standing abs workout is only 5 minutes long and perfect for beginners or people who can't get on the floor to work their abs and core. You can work on your abdominals and deeper core muscles such as the transverse abdominis standing.

Strengthening your deep core muscles and including core exercises in your fitness program will help you avoid injuries, reduce lower back pain after your workouts and support your spine. This dedicated core workout can be done anywhere. You just need some space and 5 minutes. The exercises will challenge your core muscles (transverse abdominis), balance, and stability. Keep your core engaged throughout and breathe deeply.

EQUIPMENT: Open or closed-ended resistance band.

Standing Abs Exercises: 40 Seconds of work and a short 10-second transitional break.
3-Way Leg Raises
Band pull leg raises
Knee to elbow
Opposite arm - knee reach
8 Reps Opposite arm-knee reach Left
8 Reps Opposite arm-knee reach right

The one-legged exercises will also work the glute med. Make sure you're not dropping your hip when you lift up.
