Toronto rapper and artist Skevious Tips spoke with The Lens of Yashu about his creative process when making music, and he mentioned that it depends on whoever he works with, and he tries to make a habit of writing music every day. One example of a practice that Skevious used at the beginning of his career is a thing called the Skeve 16s (#Skeve16), where he picks a producer's artist type-beat on Youtube or a popular beat (or remixing a hit song), and he tries to spit a 16-bar verse when he raps on the beat. He explained that it starts with a rap, but he explained that he made one of the best songs he ever made, and it was called Genocide, which was off the Wasted Talent project. Skevious Tips also talked about being signed to a label called The Label with The Heavy Cable. He was introduced to songwriting sessions and had opportunities to travel to Nashville, where he worked on writing for pop and country artists. Skevious Tips also talked about how he got his stage name at the age of 16.
