As you pass the Yavteshwar ghat of Satara- kas route you will find a left turn from Nivant Hill Resort, YES that’s you turning point of this expedition. This time our expedition was to explore the uncharted forest of sambarwadi village area. You will find the dense rainforest near Sambarwadi village, yavteshwar. There is no specific off road also to explore this forest, so that’s why we decided to explore it further.
Mr Tulsiram Nikam from sambarwadi village really helped us in this expedition. We started our journey around 9.30 in the morning and completed it in 2 hours but it was a jungle trek on the hills so we got exhausted totally. There was tall grass nearly about 5-6 feet tall in the month of December.
If you like hiking in Jungles then this area would be a nice spot for the adventure lovers. There are leopards in this area and other animals like Muntjacs and wild dogs too. Sambarwadi village people have seen leopards so many times. There is natural source of water which flows continuously for 12 months.
You will get a nice accommodation at Nivant Hill Resort, yavteshwar. Its just 5-6 kms away from Satara city. Best time to travel would be December to May. Nearest Airport to reach this site is Pune at 115 kms away. Nearest Railway station is satara around 15 kms away. Nearest Bus service is Satara bus depot which is in Satara city.
