2024 Opening Convocation with student and alumni awards

The Class of 2028 was matriculated at the Opening Convocation Sept. 5 in DeNault Auditorium. After the new class was welcomed, university leaders announced the recipients of the Knight Award and Young Alumni Medallions.

The Young Alumni Medallion is presented each year to young alumni of the University of Jamestown
who exemplify the characteristics of a University of Jamestown liberal arts education while demonstrating lifelong learning, community service, and character. The medal was awarded to Drs. Nathan Nygard and Ryan Nygard, twin brothers who graduated from UJ in 2011.

The Knight Award is given to recognize esteemed students who embody the mission and values of UJ through their achievements, aspirations, perseverance, and success. The award was presented to Gabi Oberg of the Class of 2025.
