Started in 1985 the American Swedish Institute Spelmanslag has been honored with two medals from the king of Sweden, a National Endowment for the Arts award as well as global norderity as one of the premiere traditional Swedish fiddle groups in the world. Three generations of the Dahlin family are represented in the group, which carries on the traditional music of the Rättvikarnas area in Sweden.
