A unique? Morris Minor MM tourer with Alta OHV conversion, plus a Minor 1000 at rest

A short vid looking at two Morris Minors, one a 1953 MM with Alta OHV engine conversion, the other an out-of-use 1965 Morris Minor 1000 at rest.
The first Minor appeared at a local event recently, and from the outside looked just like any other "high light" Morris Minor MM tourer/convertible from 1953 (a rare enough vehicle in itself), powered by its original four-cylinder sidevalve engine. Yet this Minor has a very interesting conversion hidden away beneath its bonnet. In the 1950s, Alta (better known for their competition cars) offered an overhead valve (OHV) conversion for the sidevalve Minor engine, giving it a useful increase in punch. Few of these conversions survive, but this lovely little MM has just such a conversion, plus twin SU carburettors. It was great to see this rare Morris Minor, and my thanks for the owners for having a chat about it, raising the bonnet, and for allowing me to make a quick recording.
By contrast, the second Morris is also a Minor, but one no longer in use, built somewhat later (1965), and suffering at the hands of the seaside climate - and its salty air in particular - that it lives in, coupled with broken glass enabling everything that the elements could throw at it to attack its interior. Hopefully this Morris Minor 1000 will see the road again sometime soon, but for now it rests alongside a car park behind a building, awaiting some TLC.
