The Medieval Town of Quedlinburg Germany: An Architectural Fairytale

Описание к видео The Medieval Town of Quedlinburg Germany: An Architectural Fairytale

We visit Quedlinburg, an amazing medieval town, located in the Harz region of Sachsen Anhalt, Germany.

In this episode of Searching for History, Erin, my brother Sterlin and I visit Quedlinburg. The castle, church and old town, dating from to the 10th and 11th centuries, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994 because of their exceptional preservation and Romanesque architecture. Quedlinburg truly is an amazing architectural fairytale. In this video we walk to the Marktplatz, visit a farmers’ market, walk around the Marktkirche St. Benediktii, walk across the town and end our journey at the castle hill, where we visit the Quedlinburg Cathedral. Please join us as we visit Quedlinburg.
