BIG THANKS TO:
~ Music Director, Derek McKeith...our father's Godson - Man you just DID IT!!!!!!!!!! I came to you months before the selected date. I wasn't sure about much of this project, but I knew you must be the music director. You agreed with any hesitation. I love you!!! DerekMcKeith.com
~The Drummer, Clinton Cameron - You handled that drum kit! I only heard by our father that you can keep up. Coming from Dad, you must got skills!
~Bassist, Earl Taylor aka ET - Thank you for your concern about the details of the show, holding it down, and keeping it funky. You are mad cool!!
~Guitarist, Ronny Drayton (RIP) - As one of Daddy's friends and band-mate in the early years, it was truly a pleasure and unique experience to meet you. You shared stories that my brothers and sisters and I would have never ever had known about our father. You and I need to sit and talk for a long time with a recorder to document the parts of his life only you know. To say you are a gem is an understatement!! Like Derek McKeith, the Musical Director said in another post, "Thank you for your patience. Your generosity. Your time, and your gifts." Much love to you!!!
~ Keyboardist, The KEY KILLA, C-Aye Purcell - A last minute addition who I knew without a doubt would be able to learn and execute our father’s music. Especially after I heard how he can manipulate the organ at that church on Vermont Ave in Los Angeles. Yup, he is the keyboardist for my church, Covenant Blessing Fellowship (CBF) Funk Band! You are priceless!!
~DJ ASki - Your knowledge of Dad’s music is SCARY!! I’m gonna call you Professor A-Ski!!!! Derek McKeith thank you for your friendship with this dude and bringing him onboard.
~Videographer, TA Williams - The last last last minute assignment as our videographer, found by and friend of my sister Michelle Taylor Greene.
~Paul Cheatham aka Brother Ru for having the ideal concert venue to honor our father, Edwin Birdsong, with his music and song. He supported the vision from Day 1 and never said no to me without a clear and calm explanation. Everyone needs a friend like Paul!!!
~Robin King who took the lead on getting the pictures of Dad blown up to poster size. She asked how she could help and when I came back to her with how, she said yes and got it done. You are the best!!!
~Larry and Margie Portia from my Mommie's church who provided the easels. They feed those in need the third Thursday of every month at 1st United Methodist Church of Inglewood, Virginia Beckett Food Pantry.
And everyone who came out to celebrate! Wooohooooooo!!! I saw you and appreciate the love you have for our family. Those who could not make it and was like MAN!!!
NOTE: Only 6 of the 9 children were present. 4 of the 8 grandchildren are shown in this video. No great grands were there.
