Born and raised in the SF Bay Area, Jane created a newsletter of jokes and riddles, along with her opinion column, on her family’s Apple IIc and sold it to the neighborhood, with some success. Of course, the meager content was helped by the fact that she was only eight and that it was 1991.

These passions for entrepreneurship and media have never waned. Jane was the head coordinator of the California School for the Deaf website for three of her high school years, and learned basic HTML, and took photos on a camera with a floppy disk drive. She was on the newspaper staff of a nearby community college while still a senior in high school.

Five years at Gallaudet brought a communications degree, along with experience as sports editor of the Buff & Blue. Jane also founded an underground newspaper called Buck Naked Bison with a long-time friend, resurrected the Literary Society, and was involved with Student Council.

She then worked for a non profit in downtown DC for a year as a web producer. Seeing the need in the community and continuing to follow her entrepreneurial spirit, Jane founded Eyeth Studios in 2007.

For more than ten years, Eyeth has provided a wide spectrum of web design and creative services, and is proud to work with all Deaf contractors. Recently, Eyeth has begun to focus heavily on higher education web development and adaptive learning. Partnerships have been formed with other Deaf-owned businesses to still provide full-stack creative services, including video production and public relations.

Jane also owns Lost River Vacations, a luxury tiny house vacation retreat in Lost River WV, with two Deaf partners. Jane aspires to support the Deaf community in radically shifting old paradigms, and to truly create a Deaf ecosystem that is sustainable and self supporting.

In her spare time, Jane enjoys espresso, the outdoors, her menagerie of dogs and cats, and of course reading and doing crosswords!
