The faith community is forming "a circle of protection" around programs that are critical to the well-being of "the poorest and most vulnerable," Wallis says. "That's our job. God gave us that job to do in the faith community." Wallis is a participant and leader in a fasting campaign to call attention to the moral dimensions of the federal budget.
