When a teen realizes her birth father is an alien, she discovers she possesses extraordinary abilities.

The story is centered around Evie Ethel Garland, the daughter of Troy and Donna Garland. Troy, on the other hand, is an extraterrestrial from the planet Antares. As the book proceeds, Evie gains three talents as a result of her half-alien ancestry. She has the ability to halt and unpause time, to "gleep" items into existence, and to teleport herself from one location to another. Troy lives on Antereus and is never seen, but Evie communicates with him through a crystal cube.
