1957 Tonka State Hi-Way Dept Hydraulic Dump Truck Restoration

This truck may be the most complex and exquisite toy in the Tonka series. It's a 1957 Tonka State Hi-Way Dept Hydraulic Dump Truck.

Due to the lack of replacement parts for this truck, the restoration was delayed for at least a year. Fortunately, I finally found the last part, a replacement tailgate. I am very happy to be able to finally complete this restoration project and share the results with you.

Although this Tonka has a complex structure with many parts, the restoration process was still fairly smooth, and the result was perfect.

I was a little worried that a hole in the front of the cab would be a problem when doing the powder coating, but when the part came out of oven, I was really surprised at how good the result was! The surface of the cab was bright and there was absolutely no trace of the repair!

I'm a little disappointed in the video for this project. I ended up having two small installation video clips missing. One was the tailgate of the carriage, and the other was a black bar with dumbbell light in the front of the carriage. Other than that it all went really well. I hope you enjoy the results!
