✅ Step-by-Step Guide to Become a Mutual Fund Distributor in India

Step 1: Meet the Basic Eligibility Criteria
• Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Qualification: Preferably 10+2 (not mandatory, but helps in AMC empanelment).
• PAN Card: Mandatory.
• Bank Account: In your name (for commission payouts).
• Mobile Number & Email ID: Required for registration and communication.

Step 2: Pass the NISM Series V-A Exam
• Full Name: NISM-Series-V-A: Mutual Fund Distributors Certification Examination.
• Conducted By: NISM (National Institute of Securities Markets)
• Mode: Online (can be taken from your city’s NSE/NISM test centers).
• Duration: 2 hours.
• Format: 100 multiple choice questions.
• Passing Marks: 50% (i.e., 50 out of 100).
• Exam Fee: ₹1500 approx.

✅ After passing, you will get a certificate valid for 3 years.

Step 3: Apply for ARN (AMFI Registration Number)
• Go to: www.camsonline.com → ‘Intermediaries’ → ARN Registration

Once you have your ARN, you need to empanel with each AMC you want to distribute.

Steps:
1. Visit the website of each AMC (e.g., SBI Mutual Fund, ICICI Prudential, HDFC MF, etc.)
2. Look for ‘Empanelment of Distributors’ section.
3. Submit the form along with:
• ARN copy
• PAN & Aadhaar
• Cancelled cheque
• Photograph
• Bank account details
• NISM certificate

Some AMCs may send a representative to complete the process.
