If you've seen a handful of my videos you know that I like watches which show the correct time, right down to the second. Most of my watches do this using Wave Ceptor or "Multiband 6" technology. Some can also update themselves frequently using Bluetooth connections to smart phones and tablets. So I'm excited to try a new Casio Vintage-Style watch called the ABL-100 which, at a glance, looks like a watch you would have seen at local stores in the 1980s. However, the ABL-100 is packed with 21st Century features like multiple alarms, a step counter and Bluetooth technology to keep it synchronized to the correct time.

Meanwhile, there's another Vintage-style watch from Casio which looks very similar to the ABL-100 but it's not quite so fancy on the inside and you can find one for only about $20 at places like Walmart. That's the A168 and that is the watch in this video. It's simple and cheap without being, "cheap" in a way that would make me refuse to have it. For what it is, the A168 is actually pretty great! It has one daily alarm plus an hourly chime and a stopwatch. The home screen shows a two-letter abreviation for the day of the week along with the date and the local time in hours, minutes and seconds (in either a 12-hour or 24-hour mode). It'll run for about seven years on a CR2016 lithium battery. And, check this out! The electroluminescent backlight will stay on for as long as you hold down the button. Even my fanciest G-Shocks will turn off the light after just a few seconds.
