Zeitun (the Arab word for Olive) is a new band land based in Seville (Spain). I had the pleasure to watch their powerful shows in few festivals. I love their way to do music.

They do not offer to us a stubborn imitation of canons, nor an unjustified break with tradition, but a careful elegant recollection of the past, blended with present to look at the future, all in a very personal, innovative way.

They fusion the most purely Flamenco with the wildest southern Italian music, a pinch of Jazz, some Brazilian Spices, and a lot, but a lot of their own passion and creativity.

Somehow they confirm the Mediterranean sea as a cultural space devoted to the cultural meeting and fusion, a space much bigger than the single nations and far beyond the differences of languages and religion.
