Living Jewels Parrotfish Vol 1 HD

Описание к видео Living Jewels Parrotfish Vol 1 HD

Next up in our continuing series of Living Jewels reef fish are one of the most important species, because of their feeding habits. They protect the coral from being overgrown with and smothered in algae, ending in their subsequent demise by constantly grazing on the algae growing on the reef, and keeping it under control, allowing the corals to thrive and grow.
Parrotfish all are born female and develop in phases, and some eventually develop into males. There is the initial phase where they are all female to the intermediate phase where they begin changing their colors and patterns as they transition to the terminal, or final phase as an adult male with bright colors and patterns.
They vary in size from the smaller Princess Parrotfish in the Caribbean, to the huge Bumphead Parrotfish from the Pacific that are often over 4 feet long.
This is volume one of this series with volume 2 to follow soon which will complete this series.
