Before the Surf's Up penguins were ever conceived, Lani Lowell's Surfcats were spreading their surf wisdom from Polynesia around the globe, through adventures in Hawaii, Japan, Brooklyn,and Australia.Do you really think peguins at the north pole started surfing?!! No way!!

Surfing and Bodysurfing originate from Hawaii, where the Cool Kahuna Surfcats live!! Cats are much more agile, have great big paws that glide through the surf and carve out space in the waves. They can twist their body around to catch tube rides - and always land on their feet. Their tail acts like a rudder and a paddle, and even if they had to sink to ride a surfboard, their paws could grab a board easily. Penguins would just slip right off !! C'mon!!

Most of the surf secrets are actually encoded in the Hawaiian language , as told by Lani Lowell in her Aloha piece at the beginning of the We'Moon 2006 calendar book- The Spirit of Love.
