And so he’s dropped another $4.5 million on a relatively modest Hidden Hills estate, one that happens to lie directly across the street from the ex-Kimye compound.

A source tells OPTALK that Kanye simply bought the place to be close to his children, and plans to tear down the current home and build a new one.

Kanye clearly really wanted to own this house because he paid $421,000 over the asking price, handing over a reported $4.5 million for the Hidden Hills estate. "When he realized he could buy the house and be near his family he jumped at the idea," the source explained. "He wants to be close by and be there for the kids."
