We always read in the news that the revenue of the company increased by 10% YoY, or a company or startup became No. 1 by Revenue. and in these types of scenario, we always think that Revenue and Profit are similar but Revenue and Profit are two different things.
So
What is Revenue?

Revenue is the income generated from normal business operations and includes discounts and deductions for returned merchandise. It is the top line or gross income figure from which costs are subtracted to determine net income.

Types of Revenue:
1. operating Revenue
2. non-operating Revenue

What is a Profit?
profit is the reward for the risk taken by the entrepreneur in the business. Profit is the net amount left (positive) after deducting all costs, expenses, and taxes from the revenue. Profit works as a tool in the calculation of tax of the enterprise. In simple words, the difference between the selling price of a product and its cost price is known while profiting.

Types of Profit:
1. Gross Profit
2. Net Profit
