USB C Hub for M1 Mac Mini | Speed Test | SSD Disconnected Issue Solved

Описание к видео USB C Hub for M1 Mac Mini | Speed Test | SSD Disconnected Issue Solved

Stack an USB-C Hub (Hagibis MC-25 Pro DP with M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure) on top of my M1 Mac mini, gaining external SSD storage and multiple USB/SD/TF ports.

Hagibis claims that the peak data rate of SSD in the enclosure is up to 580MB/s (instead of theoretical* 900MB/s) due to the known limitation of Apple Silicon version of Mac (including M1 Mac Mini). Well, my goal is to get an NVMe SSD to surpass an SATA SSD with any data rate beyond 300MB/s barrier although an NVMe SSD seems to be an overkill for such a goal. I've kind of achieved, at 512MB/s (Write) and 543MB/s (Read).

Additional speed tests were performed for other USB-3.0/3.1 ports and SD/TF slots on the USB-C Hub.

There is a known issue of SSD disconnected as Mac entering sleep mode with this USB-C Hub. However, I found it even happened when my Mac mini is still active, and randomly. Solutions?
1. Other YouTube channels discussed this issue and suggested a solution of using USB-C to USB-A cable instead of the provided USB-C to USB-C cable. It solved the issue but downgrading my SSD speed to under 300MB/s due the the USB-A (USB3.0) speed on the back of Mac Mini. I would consider this as merely a kludge rather than a solution.
2. I swapped the USB-C port on the Mac Mini, with the same USB-C to USB-C cable provided by Hagibis, the issue was gone. I tested so far for over 24 hours and the SSD disconnection issue never recurring. Or I may be just lucky.
