A recent weeklong power outage saw my family and I perform the ultimate real-world test on our Fronius inverter and BYD battery backup system.

The outage occurred between Christmas and NYE during a time when we had family visiting meaning there were 14 people in the house all vying for the valuable energy.

In this video I walk through the experience both good and the bad and things we learned along the way.

Inverter: Fronius Gen24 Symo 3 phase / 10kw
Battery: BYD Premium HVM, 5 modules, 13.5 kw/h storage and 6kw maximum charge/discharge
Panels: Sunpower, 15kw
