Terry Riley's "In C" - Much More than Minimalism

There's a lot more to Terry Riley's seminal piece "In C" than minimalism. Having known about the piece for years, I only recently really gained a better understanding of how it offers a genuinely new way of approaching composition and creativity, in a way that benefits all who come to it. My only question was, is it just a unique one-off, or does it offer a blueprint for composers and musicians to take into the future?
