Tensions escalated at the Ad Hoc Committee as Mdumiseni Ntuli directly challenged Brown Mogotsi over the nature of his intelligence work.

Ntuli questioned whether Mogotsi’s role which he admits involves “creating a false life” and misleading targets makes him inherently unreliable as a witness. In a heated exchange, Ntuli asked whether the committee should expect that some of Mogotsi’s statements may later prove false, given that deception is central to his work.
