Sexist, Violent Christian Romance Novel + New Movie: "Redeeming Love" | Ex-Fundie Library

This video is about the Christian romance novel “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers, which is now a mainstream movie coming out this Friday, 1/21/22. When I read this book as a teen, I saw it as a beautiful “love story” that ultimately showed god’s love for his people. I now understand that this story was not about love at all. Rather, it is a misogynistic, violent story about abuse and control that can give impressionable teens and young adults a skewed view of themselves, romantic relationships, and their faith- just like it did for me.
