Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Morigaon district of Assam, is renowned for being a significant habitat for the great one-horned rhinoceros. Covering an area of 38.85 square kilometers, the sanctuary is particularly notable for the high density of rhinos, with around 102 individuals residing within a 16-square-kilometer portion of the reserve. This makes it one of the best places to view these majestic animals in the wild.

In addition to its rhino population, Pobitora is a haven for birdwatchers, hosting over 300 bird species, including various migratory birds. The sanctuary is also home to other wildlife such as wild water buffalo, leopards, porcupines, and wild boars, making it a popular destination for tourists interested in both rhinos and diverse fauna.
