Riding on the RRVT

Описание к видео Riding on the RRVT

After dumping the rock seen in the previous video, I took the train out to the west end of the line and traveled around the new loop. Some of you may recall that originally the line ended shortly after passing over the turntable. In 2016, I found a way to construct a loop at the end of the line, so it is no longer required to exit the car and turn it on the turntable. The loop required constructing a bridge on the side of a hill, which was not an easy task but was accomplished over the course of a summer. Now the turntable only functions as a switch that is used to access a storage track. Not going to fill that hole back in just to put a switch on top of it! You will also see in this video that the large bridge has been rebuilt, and keen viewers will notice that almost all of the rail is a minimum of 12LB now. There is even a short section of 30LB rail. In the next few years, I hope to reballast many of these upgraded track sections as there has been no ballasting since 2012. I have plans to add more track as well, and when the rail becomes available I will start those projects.
