The beautiful theme to Channel 4's experimental breakfast alternative. The playout of the programme was automated with strict timings and seemed quite futuristic, but with an ABC1 focus and none of the usual TV sofas it risked lacking warmth and personality. So, as well as Carol Barnes reading news in vision and Bill Bingham providing links out of vision, this soulful sax melody provided a human touch within a sparkling arpeggiated synth arrangement and was utilised in different ways throughout the programme.
