Nothing better than playing in the middle of the week on a day off (November 13, 2024). Stay tuned for my old time friend to interview me on YouTube about music, personal life, comedy, and throwback moments. Soon to come!
Practicing for some future projects.

Jimmy Page did use Fender Stratocaster’s with Zeppelin starting some time in 1974-onward when recording and writing. I thought my Strat on the middle pickup and bridge pickup with my Vox wah would sound funky and boogie woogie for this “up tempo ditty” (Plant described it in Aug 1979 when introducing it to Knebworth with his cheeky personality). “Trampled Under Foot” (early working title “Brandy & Coke”) was a groovy one with a repetitive funky riff and features John Paul Jones on the Clavinet. Robert Plant’s lyrics inspired by Robert Johnson’s 1936 “Terraplane Blues” using car metaphors, well mostly SEX. “MAMA LET ME PUMP YOUR GAS!” The song was developed out of a Zeppelin jam. Critics compared the song style / rhythm to Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” released in 1972. My version is based on some of the live licks Page would do when playing this song live (also the lighting effect too! By 1975 Led Zeppelin was adding lights on stage / light shows / laser shows, Bonham’s drums on a riser and a giant backdrop lamp reading LED ZEPPELIN. Notable from the shows at “Earls Court”, London, May 24 & 25 1975. Led Zeppelin made their first attempt of recording “Physical Graffiti” in November 1973 but had to put the sessions to a halt when “Bad Company” had studio time at the same location (Headley Grange, Hampshire, UK) to record their self titled debut album released on May 24, 1974. One photo I posted in the video was Page playing the 1960’s Fender Lake Placid Blue Strat was taken at ONE of the shows at “Earls Court”, London, May 1975 (It was used as a backup when his infamous Les Paul shit out on him at those shows), and the other photo is a miscellaneous one taken some time between 1974-1975. The other photos are a collage from their 1975 tour supporting their brand new double vinyl. A lot of people I talk to like this album, and could not figure out why. Years later I realized it’s a combination of all Led Zeppelin’s categories of music. Outtakes from “Led Zeppelin III” (released October 22, 1970), “Led Zeppelin IV” (released November 8, 1971), “Houses of the Holy” (released March 28, 1973), and new material for “Physical Graffiti”. This album really defines that light and shade thing of Led Zeppelin you will often read about in the media about the IV gods. It was the first LP to be released on Led Zeppelin’s new label “Swan Song” (also the label under “Bad Company” as well).
