Taking The Bus in Oahu, Hawaii | The Cheapest Way to Travel in Hawaii

Описание к видео Taking The Bus in Oahu, Hawaii | The Cheapest Way to Travel in Hawaii

Taking the bus in Oahu, Hawaii is easy and inexpensive. During my trip there in February 2022, we took the bus everywhere. We saved lots of money by not renting a car/paying for parking. We used google maps to plan everything bus related (it was pretty accurate). Most bus stops dropped off right in front or very close to tourist spots. It was pretty reliable for us. However, keep in mind that it does take longer than driving yourself or taking an Uber or Lyft. Plan accordingly and plan ahead if you have a schedule to stick to. Also, the further you go from Honolulu, the bus stops start to get a little less fancy. For example, in the city the bus stops may have benches/seats and a covering while further from the city, it may just be a Bus Stop sign on the side of the road.

When I was there in Feb 2022, HOLO cards were free but they now cost $2 per card. So, don't lose your card or you will need to pay $2 for a new one.

When you purchase the HOLO card, you can load money onto the card. PRICES HAVE GONE UP!
Adult unlimited rides: $7.50/day or $80/month
Child unlimited rides: $3.75/day or $40/month

Alternately, you could pay for One-Way Fares with exact changes on the bus. But I would not suggest this unless you'll only be taking the bus once the entire day.
Adult: $3.00 one way
Child: $1.50 one way
