EE213 - 36 - Equivalent electrical circuit of a synchronous generator

Описание к видео EE213 - 36 - Equivalent electrical circuit of a synchronous generator

Due to rotation of rotor magnetic field, three phase voltages are induced in the coils placed on armature of a synchronous generator. Therefore, in the equivalent electrical circuit, the armature can be represented by a voltage source. The resistance and inductive reactance of armature coils can be represented in equivalent electrical circuit by adding a resistor and an inductor in series with the voltage source. For synchronous generators, there is another very important effect, that is, the armature reaction. This lecture demonstrates that the effect of armature reaction can be incorporated by placing an inductor in series with the voltage source in the equivalent circuit of a synchronous generator.
