La Lupe ...Saved!

I'm a huge fan of La Lupe. This is an awesome video of La Lupe singing in a church in the Bronx in the late 80's. I preached in that church over 30 years later and mentioned La Lupe in my sermon. Little did I know that the pastor of that church was a friend of La Lupe and would later put this video in my hands.

I think this video is awesome because it gives you a taste of how powerful and awesome a singer La Lupe was. The first thing people might notice is how she had gained weight and looked so different. But you must keep in mind that La Lupe had come out of a stage in her life when many people turned their backs on her. None of that mattered by this point, however, because she gave her life to Christ and was a happy woman until she died.

What I love about this video is how it shows that even though she was a Christian her style had not changed. If I could describe this video in one word it would be "Attitude". You can see how talented and unique she was. She sang with her whole soul and was not afraid to express herself. Put your speakers up so that you can enjoy her powerful and soulful voice. Not to mention, you can see and hear how moved the audience was.

To say the least: she tore it up!

I am grateful to God for putting this video in my hands of an awesome legend who impacted my life....La Lupe!
