-The U.S. reportedly fired the head of the military base in Greenland over an email in which she distanced herself from Vice President JD Vance’s criticism of Denmark. The U.S. Space Operation Command said it terminated her due to a “loss of confidence in her ability to lead.”

-Col. Susannah Meyers’ firing comes after an all-personnel email she allegedly sent after Vance visited Greenland in March.

-Vance reiterated vows from the Trump administration to annex the autonomous Danish territory and criticized what he perceived as insufficient spending by Denmark on Greenland’s security.
