Pickering in North Yorkshire is a town that has been requested many times by Gimbal Walk TV viewers so we take the cameras for a wander round this lovely little town to show you the streets, Pickering Beck, the shops, hotels, inns and pubs and the little cafe's and restaurants here.

Pickering is an ancient market town and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England, on the border of the North York Moors National Park. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, it sits at the foot of the moors, overlooking the Vale of Pickering to the south.

Pickering Parish Church, with its medieval wall paintings, Pickering Castle, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Beck Isle Museum have made Pickering popular with visitors. Nearby places include Malton, Norton-on-Derwent and Scarborough.

From the historic attractions, to the shops, museums, restaurants, pubs and cafes, there really is something for everyone in Pickering.

A great base for exploring North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Coast, Dalby Forest and the stunning North York Moors, it’s also a fantastic destination in its own right, packed with fun things to do for the whole family.

Whilst perhaps most famous for its tourist attractions, like the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Medieval Castle, Beck Isle Museum and the stunning Saxon Church with its world-famous 15th century wall paintings, Pickering has much, much more to offer.
