Being able to fight out of both leads is a fundamental aspect to Kali. Whether empty handed or with weapons, we train to be balanced and ready to defend or strike with power in both stances.

It's also important to train on different surfaces so that you are used to adjusting your footing and base according to the environment (also a good idea to get some ground training in!)

This short video I show you two basic types of footwork we use in our weaponry and empty hand training; "Lateral Triangle" and "Female Triangle", as well as 3 different punching and striking combinations to be done in both leads.

Shoot for 20 reps a day for 5 days and see how that feels!
