How did I win the Rogue Invitational Qualifier 4.5 months after surgery | Ricky Garard

The 2023 Rogue Invitational Qualifier also known as THE Q was run over 4 days in August. Anyone in the world can sign up and try to qualify in the top 5 to earn an invitation to the famous Rogue Invitational Event held in Austin Texas on the 27/28/29th October where the winner is awarded $250k.

In April I sustained a grade 3 rupture to my right shoulder after a MTB crash. I was required to get surgery & went through a 12 week healing process in a sling doing specific rehab and missing out on the 2023 CrossFit Games.

This qualifier weekend was the 21 week mark & the workouts Rogue released proved this was going to be the biggest test on my shoulder thus far if I wanted to take on the challenge & try to qualify.

I set this goal of making it to Rogue at the 12 week mark & I had heavily been focusing & pushing to make this possible so it was going to be hard to stop me. The weekend just proved to me again how powerful my mind can be. Check it out & see you in Austin Texas.
