The 17th International Tipitaka Chanting Ceremony was held beneath the sacred Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India, from 2–12 December 2022. This year, the ceremony was led by the Vietnamese sangha in collaboration with the international Mahasangha.

A grand procession was held in Bodh Gaya for the occasion. The procession began at the Royal Thai Monastery and proceeded through the streets of the city to the Kalachakra Maidan. Buddhist leaders and devotees from around the world participated in the procession.

Former president of India Ram Nath Kovind was a guest for the chanting festival in Bodh Gaya. He offered his respects at the famous Mahabodhi Temple, while monastics and lay practitioners from different countries chanted the Sutta Pitaka.

The ceremony was sponsored by the Light of Buddhadharma Foundation International and organized by the International Tipitaka Chanting Council.
