Fell in love with a Hotel in Rural China! The Brickyard at Mutianyu

I had never been to rural Beijing before, but in October I took my family along to the Brickyard at Mutianyu, a retreat at the foothill of the great all, in a small Beijing village called Beigou Valley.

The Brickyard is an eco hotel and spa, and they also have lovely holiday homes. What makes them special (apart from having views of the great wall...) is that their business philosophy is sustainability - both on an environmental and on a social level. That's why I reached out to them, and that's how this collaboration came to be.

In my next video, I'm sharing the place we were staying, a villa called the Big Rock. Early next year, you can also see a more in depth video on the Brickyard, where Jim also explains how he creates sustainable designs. This video will be published on China Matters channel, so keep your eyes open, I'll let you know when it's published!
