The biggest reason people get into crime is poverty. The fact is lower income areas tend to have more crime because people tend to see it as a way to escape poverty but one reason people get into crime you mind be surprised to learn is movies. Crime movies have inspired some of the most infamous criminals across the planet so let’s look at two major cases that were inspired directly by crime thrillers. First redoine faid a legendary gangster from France. Faid is responsible for multiple robberies and daring escapes. When questioned on why he got into a life of crime he mentioned his addiction to the thrill doing crimes and his inspiration to do crime from movies with his most daring robberies begin a direct rip off of a heist from the movie heat. This dude was so obsessed with this one movie btw that not only did he recreate it in real life when he got the chance to meet the director of the movie the dude started straight up flexing his robbery to the director on camera. Redoine faid did come from a poor background and this was the reason he first got into crime but he kept going back to it because of the love of the game and his obsession of becoming like his favorite movie gangsters. Another infamous case of movies inspiring real robberies is the biggest train robbery in history known simply as the great train robbery of 1963. This robbery is considered the greatest train robbery of all time because the robber’s got away with £2.61 million euros which in today's money would be equal to about 50 million euros or 68.1 million dollars. The mastermind behind this robbery said he saw robberies as a form of art and admired movies like the asphalt jungle. I think we all knew somebody was gonna watch crime thrillers like Heat and Goodfellas and get inspired to do some crime but it's funny to think some of the most daring crimes in history were directly inspired from the same movies that were dramazing them and in a way condemning them because this kind of life never ends well and yet the allure showed in the beginning of these films when everything is going the gangsters way is enough to get people to think they can outsmart the system and make out with the with cash just to end up in jail just like these knuckleheads. In the end I guess the only guys who win are the ones who made being a gangster seem cool in the first place.
