How To Use A Bearing Separator

Описание к видео How To Use A Bearing Separator

Removing a press on or close fit bearing is near impossible without the right tool. The ToolPRO 12 Piece Bearing Puller Kit fills exactly this need.

In the kit you will find two bearing separators, a yoke, leed screw, puller legs in two different lengths, and two different sized extension legs.

Begin the task by choosing a bearing separator the correct size for your application. If your bearing is fitted snugly to another surface, you must locate the mating gap - and open your bearing puller wide enough to surround this. As you tighten the nuts on the bearing puller - the tapered edges will close in - and open a gap behind the bearing or race.

Once the space behind your bearing or race is wide enough, and your bearing puller has enough purchase – you can begin to remove it from the shaft. Select two of the same length puller legs from the kit – use the shortest legs possible to clear the shaft. Thread one end of the leg into the puller, locate the yoke over the other ends – and tighten the nuts onto the yoke.

Now thread the leed screw through the yoke until it contacts the centre of the shaft; and tighten the leed screw to gradually pull the bearing free. A quick squirt of penetrating fluid here will help the process along.

Eventually you will be able to work the leed screw by hand. So be ready to catch the bearing, race, and bearing puller as it comes free.

That’s all there is to it! When the need to pull a bearing arises, you’ll be glad you’ve got the ToolPRO 12 Piece Bearing Puller Kit.
