A hamlet on Long Island’s South Shore, Bay Shore recently celebrated its 300th anniversary. Originally settled by the Secatogue Indians and later used as the British armed forces headquarters during the Revolutionary War, Bay Shore soon after became known for shopping and popular resorts. Today, the community boasts new upscale Townhouses and gated communities built where old estates once stood. Main Street is in the process of redevelopment, and new restaurants and boutique shops are thriving.
