So, currently, there is no drug approved to treat mpox. There is an investigational drug that's called Tecovirimat, also called TPOXX. I like TPOXX, cuz it's easier.

The STOMP study is a study that is funded by the National Institutes of Health and it's asking a critical question, which is, does TPOXX work? What we do know is it's safe. And, the data that's coming definitely indicates that the drug doesn't have a lot of side effects or any medium to long-term complications.

What we don't know is how well does it actually work and the STOMP studies are chance to do it. Again, remember it's investigational.

People enter the study and you either get the pill or a placebo, which is a sugar pill, um, active drug versus not. That really teaches us about what works. So, it's a really important opportunity for us to know if Tecovirimat or TPOXX actually works well against mpox.
