This was truly one of the most awesome, frightening and crazy thunderstorms I have seen and heard! I thought we were going to get struck by lightning at one point.

Normally the weather on Guernsey is mild and calm with plenty of sunshine and beautiful clouds. But the weather can blow in and change very quickly as we found out last week when some very lively thunderstorms swept over the Channel Islands and moved directly over Guernsey.
The thunder was extremely loud and is probably the loudest thunder I have ever heard. At one point it was very scary as it felt as though the lightning was very close. Luckily we were in a reasonably sheltered spot. I can honestly say it was the scariest and loudest storm I have ever seen. I guess as climate change takes hold we will experience more of these extreme weather events.
