This Act might be known as the functioning journalist and other Paper Workers States of Administration and Various Arrangements Act, 1955 also an act to regulate certain conditions of services of working journalist and other persons employed in newspaper establishment.Working Columnist implies an individual whose important hobby is that of a writer and who is utilized all things considered, either entire time or parttime, in, or corresponding to, at least one paper foundation and incorporates a manager. a pioneer essayist, news-manager, sub-supervisor,include essayist, duplicate analyzer, columnist, journalist, visual artist, news-picture taker and editor, however incorporates no such individual who Is utilized mostly in an administrative or regulatory limit or Being utilized in an administrative limit, performs, either by the idea of the obligations joined to his office or by reason of the powers vested in him, works mostly of a administrative nature all words and articulations utilized however not characterized in this Demonstration and considered in the Modern Questions Act, 1947 (XIV of 1947), will have the implications separately relegated to them in that Demonstration Newspaper” means any printed periodical work containing public news or comments on public news and includes such other class of printed periodical work as may, from time to time, be notified in this behalf by the Central Government in the official Gazette.

The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) is a trade union federation of journalists in Pakistan.
