Patrick beings by saying that watching Gregory Peck in John Houston's 'Moby Dick' that Inspired him as a teenager to become an actor.
He tells the story of when he was playing Captain Ahab and between takes Gregory Peck revealed he had been watching him all afternoon.
He goes on to talk about his family, particularly his grandfather who had deserted his family and ran off to London where he became an actor who evaded police during a play he was in and since ran off to America never to be seen again. He says he used to hide behind the characters and voices he played and that a role of King Leontes in Shakespeare's 'The Winters Tale', allowed him to find his unhappy, tortured individual that lay inside him. The most debilitating fear for an actor is fear of failure.
