1️⃣ Spray a large piece of cardboard with Repositionable Spray Adhesive and center your clean tablecloth on it. Fold the tablecloth in half both ways to find the center and mark with a small piece of Frog Tape Painters Tape. Smooth the tablecloth on the cardboard and press it flat to the surface. The Repositionable Spray Adhesive will hold the tablecloth to the surface.

2️⃣ This stencil comes in 3 different overlays with an additional vine stencil design. Start by using Repositionable Spray Adhesive on the back of each stencil overlay. We used the vine segments on the philodendron leaf stencil sections. Line up the first vine and repeat on the center of the tablecloth then put Frog Tape Painters Tape beneath the triangle registration marks of the stencil design. Mask off any portions of the design close to the vine with Frog Tape Painters Tape.

3️⃣ Mix Americana Acrylic Paint with half as much Americana Fabric Painting Medium. After mixing Fabric Painting Medium into your acrylic paint with your stencil brush, swirl the excess paint onto a piece of paper towel. The bristles of the stencil brush should feel dry to the touch. Repeat this each time you reload the brush.

4️⃣ Once you swirl a light coat of paint through the stencil vine, prepare the darker Avocado green with Fabric Painting Medium using a fresh, clean stencil brush. Lightly swirl Avocado green over the Hauser green in a random, organic pattern. Finish stenciling this section of the vine and peel the stencil from the surface. Line up a different section of the vine from the other stencil overlay onto the vine. Mask off any portion of the vine that you will not be stenciling.

5️⃣ Repeat step 4 in the new section. Stencil the vine by slightly overlapping the design and shading the color where each section of the vine meets. Stencil 4 repeats of the vine segments for this project. The vine should look like a single object. For your project, you may want to branch the stencil off to replicate the organic growth of a philodendron plant. This is the portion of the design you will stencil the philodendron leaves over.

6️⃣ Each larger philodendron leaf comes in two sections. Place the first repeat over the vine so that it overlaps with the leaf. Use a small piece of tape beneath the registration marks of the stencil. Lightly swirl the prepared Hauser Medium Green through the philodendron leaf before swirling the darker Avocado green on top. Alternate stenciling the lighter green and darker green over the leaf until you get a natural, organic color. Use 2 different stencil brushes for each shade of green. This should take 3-4 light coats of swirling. Once you have full coverage of paint through the leaf, gently peel off the stencil. Make sure to paint the registration marks before lining up the triangles of the other half of the philodendron leaf. Stencil the next half of the design just the same as first half.

7️⃣ Use the smaller philodendron leaves to stencil the end of the vine. Swirl your two shades of green through the stencil so the stems of each leaf overlap the end of the vine. Peel the stencil off the surface once you paint these two leaves. Take the segment of the vine the leaves are being stenciled onto and line it back up over the end of the vine. Lightly swirl the green over the stems so that they are seamless with the vine. You may choose to stencil these smaller leaves in other arrangements on the vine beside next to each other at the end of the vine.

8️⃣ Stencil the smallest leaf so that it lines up with the end of the vine but is positioned above the final two leaves. Swirl your two shades of greens with different brushes through the design and remove the stencil.
