False Killer Whales with Common Dolphins in São Miguel, Azores | TERRA AZUL™

Описание к видео False Killer Whales with Common Dolphins in São Miguel, Azores | TERRA AZUL™

Harmony in the Azores? While a pod of false killer whales (Pseudorca crassidens) slowly crossed the southeastern waters of São Miguel island, they were approached by very active common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). The false killer whales, however, showed no outward response. In this incredible moment, one thing becomes very clear: the size difference between the two dolphin species. False killer whales reach lengths up to 6 metres, whereas the much smaller common dolphin grows up to ~2.5 metres!
