The New Fritschi Tecton 12 Ski Touring Binding - Anything Technical Ltd

The Fritschi Tecton 12 is a unique and revolutionary binding which combines all the virtues of lightness and ease of use with alpine style heel performance. It uses the now tried and trusted Vipec toe with its DIN 12 lateral release and elasticity, but combines it with a heel system which incorporates a vertical rail and power cup which grips the heel with an alpine binding style tenacity.

Refinements in the toe area means engaging the toe pins is simplicity itself, with a buffer to precisely position the toe and a far more positive pin closure, plus the emergency release when falling forward is safer and more effective.

However, the real secret in the Tectons' power lies in the way the heel unit is constructed. The unique Power Rail system engages fully into the pin recess in the heel of the boot and is held securely in place by the Power Cup. This gives a vice-like grip of the heel which eradicates lateral movement and ensures the power is transmitted directly to the edge of the ski via the Step Plate, thus ensuring alpine-like performance in piste and freeride situations. The heel unit also features a 9mm frontal release elasticity which prevents pre-release and dramatically reduces the tensile forces on the lower leg in the event of a forward fall.

Other refinements include easy-to-use step height adjustments and with an extremely low weight of 1.1 kilos per pair this is a very attractive binding to full-time Ski Tourers as well as Freeriders and Free Tourers.
