Hi, neighbors and friends, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this Thule OnShore fishing pole carrier system. So folks, this is gonna be a nice partially-enclosed carrier that'll help protect and transport up to four fishing rods and reels. I'll go ahead and throw an image up here on the screen, what it looks like whenever it's fully assembled and in use and a picture of the inside. Just an idea of different rods and reels you could store in here. So again, four fishing rods up to 12 foot each.
Now this does work with round, square, aero, elliptical and most factory crossbars so you can be sure that it'll most likely fit whatever you got to deal with. Now I wanna show you the inside of this. First thing, you know, comes with two keys. You do have to have it unlocked to then open it and once you get it open, and this lid, by the way, will open pretty far. It opened pretty much flat, but I wanna just kind of keep it here if I can for demonstration purposes, okay.
So you've got the four rod holders in here. You can loosen the wing nuts that are in here, these plastic nuts, and there's T-bolts from the bottom up. You can loosen and reorientate these however you need to, depending on if you wanna put it on the left or right side of the vehicle. And these brackets on the table go underneath this box to then secure it to the roof and the crossbars on the roof. But I wanted to show you these rod holes while I got it open here.
So you get four of 'em and you could spin 'em around, reorientate 'em however you want. They got nice plastic latches. This does spring open and close to give you different rod size options. And then once you get your rod in there, boom, you just latch it around it. Very simple operation, super simple.
It does keep the rods and reels dry as far as the reel and everything that's in the box. And then when you close it, you can simply lock it and be on your way. Now it is an ABS plastic shell, it's heat and impact resistant and there are holes in the bottom to allow water to drain out and that kind of stuff. Everything here is made in the USA, a great tool product. The key system is a one-key system lock that'll deter theft of your rods and reels. Now if you have other Thule products and you wanna get everything keyed alike, you can swap out whatever core comes with this from the factory. But if you want it keyed alike to something you already have, that would be something you would have to purchase separately. The exact lock core you need as a separate purchase. Again, this just comes from the factory with a random one for security. There's no way for us to open all of them and find out the exact one you need. So keep that in mind, please. Now switching over here to the other side, this is the part that'll hold the tips of the rods and it has a nice plastic latch right here. Push the button, it opens and that reveals the foam in here. It's a high density foam, it's got slits already, one for each of the four rods and then it simply snaps closed and I preassembled the mine hardware. Again, this can go over pretty much any shape bar that's out there. Same thing, ABS plastic, nice, hard, heavy duty. You got your mounts. Again, these go underneath the box. You can see they're curved the way if you need to mount the box one way or another to get a level or just to get it easier to reach for you, to reach off the side of the vehicle, that's possible. These are the bottoms for those. You get all the extra screws and hardware, well, not extra, but what I haven't used yet for assembly. So keep that in mind, you will use all this. And then like I said, I've got these kind of preassembled. The whole kit, folks, only weighs about 15 pounds, has a great limited lifetime warranty from Thule. And as far as some dimensions, this box is roughly 25 by 22 and it is 9 3/4 inches tall. So I do wanna spin it around. You can see all the holes there on the side where the four rods would come out, and the poles, and there's a front of the lock. Lemme see if I can zoom in here and get you a better picture of the lock core there. That's the locking mechanism. You can rotate that left to right and that in turn opens the case and lemme spin it around so you can see the hinges. So nice spring-loaded hinges, gonna work nice for you. A really nice kit, folks. Like I said, we've got images of this holding four rods and reels as a demo and it's just a nice product that holds everyt
